STRIDES is the next chapter following the success of Open Door Group- Opportunities Fund program. STRIDES (Solution-focused, Training, and Recruitment promoting Inclusive and Diverse Employment Success) aims to support individuals with disabilities in their journey towards employment and self-employment.

          The program offers financial assistance, training, and other resources to help individuals with disabilities gain confidence and acquire the skills and experience needed to achieve meaningful & sustainable employment.

        Our team serves the Lower Mainland, Okanagan, Thompson, and Kootenay regions including remote areas where employment resources might be limited.

        Our home office is located on the traditional territories of the skwxwú7mesh, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. We extend thanks, honor and respect to our hosts.

          Are you living with a disability and seeking employment opportunities? The STRIDES- Opportunities Fund Program offers financial assistance for training, wage subsidies, adaptive equipment funding, and self-employment training to help you gain sustainable and meaningful employment. Get the funding support you need to achieve your career goals.

          Join STRIDES If You:

          • Have a self-disclosed disability or long-term health condition.
          • Are unemployed or underemployed.
          • Are Canadian citizen, Permanent resident or have been granted refugee status in Canada.
          • Are eligible to work in Canada.

          Inclusive Employers

          Diversify your workforce and support individuals with disabilities in achieving their career goals. Through the STRIDES- Opportunities Fund Program, eligible employers can receive wage subsidy or skills training for their new employee, along with disability support services like funding for technology or equipment, workshops, and on-site job coaching.

          Join STRIDES If You:

          • Registered business with Canada Revenue Agency (GST Number) and has a legal business name.
          • Have been in business for at least one year.
          • Have WCB coverage and provide the Worksafe Account number.
          • Covers the Mandatory Employee Related Costs (MERCs).
          • Offer the likelihood of on-going long-term employment upon completion of the wage subsidy.
